How to syncronise an email address to a new email address (WIP)🔗
Introduction🔗
You've probably wanted to move from one provider to another, or you want to update your email account to a new and better one; one that isn't called "seggs_god_69420@gmail.com", but something more professional.
Luckily, I was not that kid back then, but instead I developed into a privacy freak, so I wanted to change from GMail to something else, such as ProtonMail or my own mail server. Another thing is, at work, we wanted to go from some old Debian 6 to a newer Debian server for our new email server.
Let me introduce you to IMAPSync.
It is a fantastic tool, and is absolutely amazing. The developer has a website too; I know it looks old and "ugly", but with a website like that, you know it's legit. Read here if you want to complain about it.
This tool keeps everything. It's non-destructive by default, every flag you've put on your mails are kept, all mail locations are kept within the designated folders; if it is unread, it stays unread, and was it read, it stays read.
Installation🔗
You can follow his guides if you don't mind reading R files, but I'm going to help you through a Debian and Ubuntu installation.
